Pad Support

An emerging issue in O&M support for utility-scale solar projects is foundation integrity. As with any heavy foundation, solar farms face settlement issues that can cause central inverter or transformer pads to crack, become uneven or sink over time.

Brilliant Rack is on the leading edge of this issue and is the first racking company to provide Pad Support for new or existing projects. We offer pre-construction or remedial engineering analysis and turnkey installation of patented helical piles to stabilize and secure PV systems.

Pre-Construction

Avoid the possibility of system downtime and protect the performance of your solar farm’s system components by implementing Pad Support during pre-construction. We can provide helical pile pad stabilization as part of our upfront foundation solution or as a separate service to EPCs.

Pre-construction Pad Support can typically be completed in as quickly as 1 to 2 days.

Remediation

For existing projects where pads are sinking or at risk, Brilliant Rack provides remediation of pad supports. Remediation enables O&M providers to eliminate any additional production losses associated with pad failure and may include:

Soil analysis
Geotechnical and/or “pull” testing
Installation of patented helical piles, with proprietary brackets that attach directly to new pads

In either case, new concrete pads or steel skids can easily be installed to a specified height above grade to brackets attached to the top of helical piles.
